Introduction CRW: Almost all of this information comes from my relatives and co-researchers EMW and CJW. I have collected whatever images I could find on-line to confirm their findings. My only real contribution was finding the will of John Hudson in 1775 and pointing out the connection to Norfolk.

William John Yallop was born on 8 August 1853, the son of James Pell Yallop and Jemima Caroline née Hudson. PP_8  
Marriage  
Jemima Caroline Hudson and James Pell Yallop married in Shoreditch on 23 October 1843. Her age is given as 'minor', and her father is given as Thomas Higgs Hudson. (The groom was actually 19, and the bride 15!). Marriage  
Note that the names 'Jemima Caroline Hudson' and 'Thomas Higgs Hudson' are unique to three individuals, in this time period, in the British Isles - Jemima, her father, and one of her brothers - so any record in which these names occur pertains to them!

George Hudson, son of John Hudson of Southwark, turned was apprenticed to silversmith in 1779. Indenture  
Two months earlier, George Hudson, was discharged from Christ's hospital by his grandmother Mary Hart, who was to provide him with an apprenticeship. Discharge  
Mary Hart, widow was an executrix of the will of John Hudson, gent. of Southwark in 1775, which mentions his sons James and George. Will  
George Hudson, baptised in 1764, was admitted to Christ's hospital in 1773 by his father John Hudson, Turner and Citizen of London. Admission

The Condition of this Obligation is such, that if hereafter there shall not appear any lawful Lett or Impediment, by Reason of any Precontract, Consanguinity, Affinity, or any other Means whatsoever, but thet the above-bounden John Hudson and also Mary Hart may lawfully solemnize Marriage together, and in the same afterwards lawfully remain and continue for Man and Wife, according to the Laws in that Behalf made and provided: And moreover if there be not at this present Time any Action, Suit, Plaint, Quarrel or Demand, moved or depending before any Judge Ecclesiastical or Temporal, for or concerning any such lawful Impediment between the said Parties: Nor that either of them be of any better Estate or Degree, than to the Judge at granting of the Licence is suggested.  
And lastly, if the same Marriage shall be openly solemnized in the Church, in the Licence specified, between the Hours appointed in the Constitutions Ecclesiastical confirmed, and according to the Form of the Book of Common-Prayer, now by Law established; then this Obligation to be Void, or else to stand in full Force and Virtue.

Humbly Sheweth  
THAT the Petitioner's Wife died about Eighteen Months ago, and left him with three Children to maintain which he is unable to do without Assistance  
Therefore He humbly beseeches your Worships, in your usual Pity and Charity to distressed Men, poor Widows, and Fatherless Children, to grant the Admission of one of his Children into CHRIST'S-HOSPITAL, named George Hudson of the Age of eight Years and upwards there to be Educated and brought up among other poor Children

WE the Minister, Churchwardens, and others of the Parish of Saint Saviours, Southwark, Surry whose Names are hereunto subscribed, do Certify, That John Hudson Father of the said George Hudson is a Free-man of the City of London, and Company of Turners and that the said Child is at present of the age of eight years and upwards being born in the Month of October 1764 and is no Foundling, nor maintained at the Parish Charge, and that we know of no probable Means for the Education of the said Child, unless the said Governors of CHRIST'S-HOSPITAL shall please to admit him into the said Hospital, which if they shall please to do, We, together with the Father of the said Child, do fully consent and agree to leave the said Child to the Disposal of the Governors of the said Hospital, to bind him an Apprentice to such a Trade or Calling, whether for Land or Sea Employments, as they shall judge the said Child most fit and proper for: And we together with the Father of the said Child, do promise and oblige our selves, not only to ratify and confirm the same, in Case the Governors of the said Hospital shall please to dispose of the said Child, but also We the Minister and Churchwardens aforesaid, for our selves and our Successors, promise and oblige our selves to discharge the said Hospital of the said Child, at the Age of fifteen Years, or at any Time before or after the said Age, whensoever the said Hospital shall require the same of us.
